I Shocked my GTX 780 on the cooler is it dead?

Hi,
I just took my new RMA gtx 780 out of the box and its the reference with the big metal cooler. I shocked the cooler (the front side not the back) , card works but does that cause damage or do you have to directly discharge it on the back pcb???
PLEASE HELP

If it works you are good simple as that, I guess the shock was not in the right place or not strong enough to cause damage.
