I spilled water on my headphone cable.

I spilled water on my headphone cable. It has one of those braided cables, and spilled near the volume rocker. My computer no longer senses when i plug in this headphone.

That's not a spill on the cable, that's a spill on electronics! See if other headphones work. If nothing works on that computer, you short circuited the audio codec and now need to either buy a USB DAC, PCIE sound card, or a new motherboard. If only that headphone doesn't work, you need new headphones, preferably ones without additional electronics
