[SOLVED] I stubbed my toe on my desk.

I stubbed my toe on my desk and my monitor turned off however the computer stayed on.

I hard shut it down and made sure the power cable in the back was still all the way in. I did a visual check on my cables in the case and they all look tight and snug so I'm wondering why it would do this.

Would it be a motherboard shock protection thing or something else?

More likely a [external] cable came loose.

Make sure the the monitors power cable is snugly plugged into your monitor. They tend to wiggle lose where they plug into the monitor.
