Okay I may decide to move my Xbox One from my bedroom into my living room. I picked up an HDMI Switcher, so I can either have my Xbox going to my PC Monitor, or have my graphics card going to my monitor (for regular computing).

Thing is my graphics card is kinda old now and it has a VGA plug on one end (this plugs into my graphics card at the back of my PC), and it has a HDMI plug on the other end.

Both the HDMI plugs will plug into the switcher inputs and then I have another HDMI cable that will go from the switcher output to the back of my monitor.

My question is will this still work even though one end of my graphics cable is a VGA type?

I'm guessing that won't matter and everything will still work fine.

Just want to be sure before I start moving things around.

The current cable that is connected from my graphics card to my monitor has VGA going into the graphics card and HDMI going into my monitor.

If I decide not to move my Xbox into the living room I probably could still use the switcher on my bedroom TV. Plug one cable from my Xbox into one input on the switcher, and plug the other cable that hooks up my Blu-ray player to the other input.

I was wondering if by pulling out cables from ports that puts wear and tear on your TV's ports?
