[SOLVED] I switched from 60Hz HDMI to 144Hz DisplayPort. Now Desktop Window Manager is taking 2GB of memory alone. Is that normal?

There is a background yes.
No screensaver.
I rebooted the PC the the DMW usage is now down to 100-200 MB. Not sure why it happened in the first place though.

To answer your question, no., Windows does some funky things behind the scenes but it should never remain consistent with that high of RAM usage for any process.
