I think I fried my motherboard... What next?

Hi!

I'm midway through my build and I think I fried my motherboard. My fault as I'm working in my room on my bed and standing on carpet. Thought I'd ask for advice before I mess anything else up.

I'd installed my CPU, cooler and RAM into my Node 202, the PSU wasn't plugged into anything at this stage. I then installed the case fans which required me to remove the back cover from the case. When lowering the chassis back into the back plate (which is flat on my bed) I think I heard a zap. I didn't notice any smell or smoke. If there was a current it would have come from behind the CPU socket.

What should I do now? Is it likely my Mobo/CPU/RAM are damaged? Shall I stop building or give it a test run? Will a test run risk damaging more parts?

Thanks in advance,
Louis

Solution
Give it a test run with only CPU, cooler, ram, psu, monitor, peripherals> theres no such thing as further damaging anything. If it's fried, it's fried.
