Question I think i'm screwed -> M.2 Standoff (GE72 6QF Apache Pro)

Hello.

When upgrading the M.2 SSD on my laptop, I opened the case to find the stand-off screw had been stripped. ah heck!
After several failed attempts at extracting the screw, I eventually resorted to drilling out the screw.
So I have drilled off the head of the M.2 standoff screw but cannot get a replacement in as the rest of the screw is still in there.

At this point I thought it would be a good idea to remove the standoff and replace it with another bought online... however, I'm not sure that this can be done as I think the existing standoff is soldered on.

So right now I'm thinking that I could perhaps hold the SSD in place with with some electrical tape.... but knowing how hot things get, I don't think that is a terribly good solution.

So i'm reaching out to you guys to see if anyone else has been in a similar situation or if there are any suggestions on offer.

Thanks in advance

For future reference, and I know it doesn't help now, but try to cut a slot first such as with a Dremel tool.

If that bit is soldered down that does pose an issue.

When putting the unit back together is there a spacing or another bit of hardware nearby that you could use some manner of spacer to hold the M.2 down? Perhaps some two sided sticky foam/tape on a small bit of plastic?
Don't use anything conductive or reactive to heat.

Not ideal but without seeing it or suggesting extreme measures I am not sure what else you could do.

Come to think of it, what about something like Silicone adhesive or shoe goo, etc.?
Just a small dab applied to the nub of the standoff and not enough to spread across other hardware. Use something to hold it in place until it sets.
