It's doesn't boot up.i connected all the cables correctly and I even tried the screwdriver method but no progress.
I thought it was my psu but it is not.
My board is a asrock z170 pro4s.
When I plugged in the 20pin connector halfway to the motherboard the psu started spinning and then immediately turned off.
It also started doing this to the case fans too.

Solution
The faulty device might not be the motherboard it might be something else like the ram or graphic card.
What you need to do is remove each component one by one and everytime you remove a component try starting the PC , is the PC starts that component is faulty.

Have you just built the system, or is it a few months old ?

If it is a new system you have just put together then just connecting the 24pin ATX power block from the cpu is not enough.

On most boards with just the 24 pin ATX power block one or two things happen.
The board may seem like it powers on but only the cpu fan and system fans spin but there is no bios post of the motherboard.

Or the system will power up for about five to ten seconds, and then completely power off.

The cause is always because you have forgot, or have not connected what we call the E-ATX power block from the PSU to the motherboard.

The E-ATX connector can be a four or eight pin block found on the psu set of cables.
And it must be connected to the motherboard to the four or eight pin power block on your motherboard.
As well as the 24Pin ATX power block.

The board will then fully post to the bios, powering up properly.

Look at the manual if you have not done so for your motherboard.
It will show you the location of the E-ATX power point connector on the motherboard.

It is usually positioned looking at the motherboard inside your case to the top of the motherboard on the edge and a few inches away from the back of the motherboard where the main input and output devices are connected such as usb sound and video cables.

If you have just built the system it is the first thing to double check, that the E-atx power block is connected to the motherboard.
As it can often be missed as it is often set at the edge of the board and can be placed in between Vrm cooling heat spreaders.

Any other failure Raging rabbits is saying if the board powered up right would result in a bios beep or error code message.
As the board tests these components to see if they are working properly anyway.
