So, I got a new PC from a guy and in the description he said it had 16gb (2x8gb), both 3666hz.

When I got home it wouldn't show display but was on. I fixed it by resetting CMOS by taking the small battery out and plugging it back in, it worked.

Put memory to 3666

Crashed

And now I get a Critical Process died blue screen

Took out the memory sticks, it was 2666hz

Do you think they're dead? (They still light up)

Maybe they are not. Did you try to reset the bios to optimised settings?

Before going to bed I went and took out 1 of the sticks, it booted and was working like normal
I'm going to troubleshoot the other one today and I'll see if it is actually dead

I've never seen 3666MHz ram other than 1 kit of Corsair Dominator Platinum, otherwise every other kit will be 3600 or 3733 because that's how pcie buss works, on the 100/133Hz x multiplier standard.

Generally the Only way to get ram to run 3666MHz is by a BCLK OC, commonly used by motherboard software OC like OC Genie etc.

You most likely either have 3600 ram or 2666 ram and the seller was either scamming you or clueless to the error.
