Hi there, I bought a new 1TB Sandisk SSD.

I tried to clone my current SSD to the new one using the software from here http://www.apricorn.com/products/software/sandisk

However, it failed.

Now I can't find the SSD in the EZ GIG program.
I can't find it in Gparted,

This is what happens when i go to disk management

When I click okay, this happens

the specified disk is not convertible because the size is less than the minimum size required for GPT disks.

I really don't know what to do, is it dead?

Well that's a bit unusual. Were you able to clone the drive successfully afterwards? If not you can take a look at this tutorial on how to migrate your OS: http://lifehacker.com/5837543/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-drive-without-reinstalling-windows. Of course you can go with whatever software you'd like, I'm just sending it for the walkthrough. :)
Hey there, Kyle.

Try it with a different SATA port and different cables, to see if the same thing happens. It would be even better if you could give it a go with a different computer and try to initialise it again (this is what you are asked to do when you open Disk Management).
Download an SSD diagnostic tool, to see if it recognizes the drive and if you can test it for errors.
You could also check the manufacturer's website for available firmware updates for that drive model.

Please let me know how everything goes.

Hello,

Thanks for a reply.

I couldn't initialise it on a different USB port. (USB -> SATA)
However simply removing the SSD and reinserting into the USB -> SATA Adapter worked. Pretty strange.
