Guys

My PSUis coil whining I think. But only when I play CS:GO (even on normal settings).
I play BF4 in 1440P ultra without coil, but I've got coil in CS:GO

How come? I only get coil while alive and playing. When dead or menu it stops..

I'm pretty sure its my PSU that's making this noise

Does someone knows why it's making this noise only in CS:GO? I thought it is less intensive for both PSU and GPU than BF4..

I am guessing your PSU is just starting to show its age, I would replace it sooner than later. When they start to go out your system will start to hang up and won't unfreeze usually in more taxing situations. Sometimes they just go and take stuff with them. Just keep your eyes peeled for performance problems and save up for a new PSU and you should be ok.

I7 4770k
Asus maximus hero vi
GTX 780ti
Corsair h100i
Some coolermaster that's 1000watt, don't know the model, it came out somewhere in 2010-11.

But it's really weird that it's happening only in cs: go.

But what could be the explanation that it only happens at cs:go in game?

I'll try to determine whether the sound is coming from psu or not. I still have a cx750m here somewhere. I did not used it, I'll put that one in. Thanks!

I am guessing (and both of these answers have only been educated guesses) that CS:GO is just the game that pushes your system the hardest. I wouldn't worry too much about the coil whine as long as it isn't bothering you. Just watch for the symptoms I mentioned above and be ready to replace it when that time comes. For all we know that PSU may have 3 more good years of coil whining goodness in it, it's just a gamble.

Thanks for the reply. So playing a few more months with this psu won't hurt anything? Guess I'll try it out for a month. If it's bothering I'll replace it

It should be alright for the time being as long as no other symptoms of a bad PSU show, but as I said it should be something you look to replace in the relative near future. If the whine gets worse or if other symptoms appear you need to replace as soon as possible.
