I thought Win7 OEM only sticks to one computer?

I was told that Windows OEM versions is stuck with the motherboard or old PC and if you replace your PC you have to buy a new key. I did a complete re-build (all new parts except computer case) and was able to install my windows 7 OEM on my new PC. I'm not complaining because it saved me $$$ but I'm just a little confused.

I feel like buying a new Case now and put all my old parts together to see if windows will still run on my old build.

What will work and what is legal are not necessarily the same. If you (illegally) attempt to run the same copy of windows on two computers at the same time, you can expect both copies to get flagged as pirated.
