Troubleshooting help:

My parts:

Case: Corsair 750D
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VIII Formula
Ram: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti SLI
CPU: i7-6700K
PSU: Corsair 1000W

My problem:

I had some stability issues with my fresh build, so I decided to update my BIOS to rule out problems related to BIOS. I decided to go forward with the updating, using the BIOS USB Flashback option. I downloaded the right file for my motherboard, renamed it, copied it to the root of my USB and shut down my PC. Then I went forward with starting the flashback process, I pressed the button and it started to update my BIOS. The LED light started blinking, one minute of slow blinking and then it started to blink faster for a minute. I was happy and figured it would soon finish. But then it just started blinking slow again.. I started wondering and got worried. It now blinks slow for a minute and then fast for a minute, repeating this process endlessly. I left it overnight and it's still going at it.. My guess would be that it for some reason keeps restarting the process? But I don't know what to do now... I'm scared of stopping it or doing anything to it. I tried googling for results and help but I can't find anything related to my problem so I'm starting to feel hopeless.

List of anything I've done to troubleshoot or fix the problem:

I've yet to do anything about it because I don't want to brick my board. I've just tried to find help and answers, hope you guys can help me out.

Relevant photos or videos:

*Insert video of the blue LED blinking on my I/O shield. Slow for a minute, and then faster for another minute. Repeats endlessly. *

Provide any additional details:

This is my first post, so be gentle and I apologize if I made a mistake or two.

How do you suggest I do that? Should I remove the USB? Just press the Power button or what?

Might have to go with that unless someone can shed more light on the problem soon.

I went forward with it, the waiting was killing me. I decided to press the BIOS button again, instead of pulling the plug or powering on. It continued to blink the same way, one minute slow and one minute fast.. I was thinking great, that did nothing.. But then it stopped. I then figured I'd boot the computer to see what would happen. It told me there was a problem, that I should go into the BIOS setup. So I did.. To my surprise, the BIOS version was updated. BIOS settings were also reset (I don't know if this is a standard thing when you update it). So I exited the BIOS to try and enter windows.. It took a while and suddenly the screen went purple, it wanted me to install windows again for some reason.. I noped my way out of there and restarted the computer, this time it worked and I actually got to windows and I confirmed with the command prompt that the version was indeed updated.

Problem solved, I guess.
