Hello there, today I installed a new stick of ram into my Lenovo Ideapad 3 there is 4 gig sautered to the board and there is a 4gb stick of 3200installed. I bought an exact model of ram just a 8gb stick. I go to system and its showing 12GB ram (3.38) usable. So I go online and look for answers, there I find to go to MSconfig and uncheck the Max Memory option and then I restart the computer. Now it's stuck into a constant BSOD where I can't even boot into safe mode. I have no idea what to do it I've tried swapping the ram back and using no ram in the slot to try and boot it and the same thing still happens if someone has ran into this issue some help would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

i don't know if this will do this problem. its for people who have set a maximum memory amount

do you have an installer USB - just need it to get into winre

Download either Windows media creation tool (2nd link) or ISO (3rd link) and use it to create a Win 11 installer - https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

boot from installer
on screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install.
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose command prompt
type:
bcdedit /deletevalue {default} truncatememory
and press enter
Then exit and restart

see if windows works now.

I tried this with the usb repair tool and then it gave me " An Error occurred while attempting to delete the specified element.
Element not found."

Solution
I ended up reinstalling windows with the usb thankfully I didn't have anything too important on there but I appreciate all the help super weird issue and now the memory is showing the correct 12gb (9.98) Available . Thank you guys for all the help!
