I Upgrade to Widnows 8.1 My Computer does not dectect wifi properly

I just to have windows 7 and 8 it was fine no problem with this two systems but then after I upgrade to windows 8.1 I even I installed and re stalled again 2 or 3 times. and Still It does not let me view handful WiFi networks list also I don't see Airplane mode or nothing,it appears as cord network not as WiFi but it automatically connect, and I don't like that it Auto connects with out knowing which WiFi network I connected to what happen if I get connected unsecured network instead of my Wifi Router, I wish it was like my laptop in my laptop does shows other networks list and plane mode. does are there some settings or features that I could change or updates that could fix that problem thanks and how thanks a lot for your help. my device is Cisco linksys compact wireless G usb also I have the disc included and everything. I don't know if pictures can be show here I'm new to the Forum.

Some devices need updated drivers when you upgrade the OS from 8 to 8.1
Go to the Linksys support and download the Windows 8.1 driver for that USB adapter model (if they have one).
Then install it.
