i used i5 2400 processor without thermal paste and it's temp go upto 82'c while gaming!(70 in idle)

I bought a used i5 2400 cpu and checked few minutes ago
It's working well
Not overclocked and using cpu heatsink and fan which comes with cpu
But when they packaging heatsink and cpu was separated and while i checking it it had no thermal paste
(which i didn't have with me)
I know as long as there's no thermal paste temperature is little bit higher
But idle temp was around 70 and while playing farcry 4 for few minutes it went upto 82
My question is
1. is this still abnormal without thermal paste ?
2.Will it significantly go down with applying thermal paste?
3.should i use separate cpu cooler or this cooling is sufficient ?
(i have no intention to overclock)

The difference BETWEEN thermal pastes is a few degrees, the temperature difference between having Paste and not having it is much bigger. Air is a very poor conductor of heat.

You NEED thermal paste. Running without risks damaging or totally destroying your CPU.
