I used rufus to make a flash drive into an instal drive for W10

I used the program and it said to used the ISO file and the rufus program did everything, but I don't know if it actually worked because I do not want to upgrade to windows 10 fully until all the kinks are worked out. I have W7 ultimate right now and it's the best. Has anyone ever used this program to do this before? Also, I used a sandisk flash drive, and I think I read somewhere saying they had problems being detected as removable media storage, that when they were plugged in they were read as if it was a normal hard drive. Could this have affected it at all?

Well, you can't know if it works or doesn't until you try it. And I've used Rufus before it is fine.

You could try booting from it just to see if it boots up. Abort the Upgrade process before it gets too far.

seen it a few times recently, only ever used the MS tool for that purpose.
