I wanna overclock my computer but i dont know how

I want to over clock my cpu and other stuff but i dont know how. Its a new computer its a 3 thousend doller computer hehe and i want to overclock the crap out of it.

also, if that is a 3k (in US dollar), i would suggest that you do A LOT of reading (and watching) tutorials, the last thing you would want is to ruin that rig of yours. besides, if you have that kind of rig, it should be fast, right?

if you really want to go at it, well it is your choice, and i will still say that you read read and read. Overclocking is not a 5 minute task, do it wrong and it will cost you. besides, its too long to type everything here while there are tons of guides readily available online

Don't overclock. The new CPUs are not for overclocking (exluding the extreme editions). I overclocked my old Celeron from 150Mhz to 165Mhz and I had hardware failure. I reseted the mobo with a jumper and all was fine, because there was no damage. But overclocking from 4.2Ghz to 4.6Ghz is not needed. 4.2Ghz Quad-Core or six-core is pretty big. Do you know the game minecraft? It needs a lot of CPU power. I play it heavy modded with ~350 mods and it runs at 60 fps with drops to 15 on my dualcore celeron g1610 2.66Ghz. So, don't try to overclock

Btw, if you try, in bios don't increase the multiplier, but the other number (i don't remember what's its name) and increase the voltage, but not too much (ex. from 1.000V make it 1.080V or 1.100V)

You've got a solid motherboard for overclocking, not sure about the cooler though, haswell gets pretty hot if you increase voltage, so be careful with rasing vcore. Provide more details on the cpu cooler, is it a heatsink or AIO cooler? Also word of advice never strees test on Adaptive or Auto mode, always do it in MANUAL MODE.

I wouldn't go over 1.25v with that cooler. You might get 4.3-4.5Ghz out of that 4770k, possibly more it ALL depends on the quality of your chip, each one is different. My 4770k that I had did 4.4Ghz @1.248v and 4.5Ghz @1.296v. You might have a chip that does 4.6GHZ @1.25v.
