i want dell inspiron 1420 dvd driver software

when i put in the dvd in the drive, it makes a funny loud noise as if it were prosessing and i cant see the drive then i open my computer. where can i download the driver?

If the dvd drive is making funny noises then the disk might be scratched or the drive is only a 2x (speed) drive and your disk is 16x (speed) and it is having problems reading the DVD disk.

Scratched disks dont make more noise.

2x drive with 16x disk? Thats all crap the speeds dont matter, if a drive is 2x its only going to read at 2x its not going to make more noise then any other disk.

@Apache_lives - They do but I'm not going to debate it, most DVD drives after 2007 only read x4 or x8 speeds.

To the OP, make sure you actually clcik the dvd into the holder, it is a shallow middle bit so it might be that it isn't actually clicked into place.

@apache_lives, you are not giving the OP any good advice so stop being argumentative.
There are some cd/dvd drives that don't read below 4x, espacially RW DVD'd and RAM DVD's.
I can't burn at 1x, my burning software only goes as low as 4x.

burn a disk at 4x and see how fast it reads for me, just go do it seriously do us all a favour
