Hi!

I just want to get a little bit if info before o/c'ing my new cel 533-A on my spanking new soyo 6BA +4 ( BX chipset, got good reviews, and it's cheap! 😉

First, thermal paste: Is it any good? How do I use it ( ie, put a LOT or just some on the "central" die,or a lot)

Then will my mobo have any trouble identifying the cpu and voltage for it? It's supposed to be automatic...

Thank you,

Seoman

PS: If you have any more info's to give me, please, do so!

As far as thermal paste, you don't need a lot. That stuff tends to get all over. You should only need to put some on the exposed wafer. The mobo should detect the voltage without a problem. My bro has a Soyo board for his P3. It isn't the BX board, but it seems to work pretty well. Good luck.

Right. Only put a little thermal paste on the center and when you'll put the heatsink on it, it'll spread all over.

I think thermal paste is absolutely essential if you plan on overclocking. It gives you perfect contact between you CPU and the heat sink, which is very important for an appropriate cooling.
