My pc is 3 year old and I need a upgrade. I was looking for rigs and parts for 3-4 days and I really like the Phenom II X6 1090T processor and maybe a Sapphire AMD HD 6870 1GB Video Card or a XFX HD 6850. I was looking for a mother board and found the Asus crosshair IV Formula but it has only PCIe 2.0 and these card are PCIe 2.1 . Now to the question, can some one help me pick parts and build my budget is around 750$ I can go to 850$. This PC will mainly be used for gaming and a little video editing. I was planning to overclock my processor and for that to buy a water cooling block only for the CPU but that for far times to come.

I wanted to know what ram to buy too. Thinking of 8 gigs. and I will need a 750w power supply if I will overclock the CPU. Don't include the OC in the price since I got it already.

I like your choice of Graphics but i am wondering why the 1090T?

At this stage (atleast until AMD releases their Buldozer CPU's) Intel's i7's are waaaayyyy ahead of the pack at a very reasonable price.

If you are a die hard AMD fan, as I kinda am, rather wait for the Bulldozers to release. Some people are saying a week, others by the end of the year.

I don't mind Intel I just what a fast processor for not a lot of money and if Intel is a better choice what CPU should I get ?

the Republic of gamers motherboards are over priced I would go with a asrock am3+ motherboard. for ram you should get g.skill ripjaws 2x4gb . instead of getting an i7 you could get a an i5 2500k and a better gpu like a 6950

Most Intel H61/H67 boards offer PCIe 2.0 only. and most graphics cards these days are PCIe 2.1

I suggest an i5 2400 + Asus H67 board + Corsair 750W PSU + Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB HDD + EVGA GTX 560Ti + 2x4GB DDR3 1333 RAM.
Case : your choice.

Yeah the I5 2500K is actualy very good. I7 tends to be overkill for the average user.

I would suggest :

CPU - Intel Core I5 2500K

Motherboard - Asus P8P67

Powersupply - Coolermaster 750w GX series

Graphics Card - Either the Sapphire HD6870 or the Sapphire HD6770 Vapor-x(if you want to save abit of money.

RAM - Corsair XMS3 2x4 GB should be more than enough.

Case : Just get a good brand case with proper cooling.

HDD : I would suggest a Seagate hard drive, capacity is your choice.

As I am not in your area or country I would not know what the pricing on these things are in general. But if this is above your budget then feel free to ask and i will revise.

Haha I just did the same build only I went for the
ASUS ENGTX570 DCII/2DIS/1280MD5 GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121432 350$
What do you think?

Thank you for the advice
