Unless you're constantly transferring files non-stop, or it's taking the brunt of your GPU's hot exhausted air, there's no real need for an M.2 heat sink. They run at pretty low temperatures. If the mobo came with one attached then I'd say to keep it and use it, otherwise you don't need to go out of your way for one.
