Hey guys , is ali express worth buying? I want to buy a cpu and motherboard , which is core i3 8100 , so that question is it safe or worth buying? And did anyone buy processor or electronic from aliexpress? Appreciate your help
I bought several times in Aliexpres computer products: CPU, Motherboard and graphic cards.
All of them second hand with appreciable discount. The discount was more noticeable in the Xeon CPUs from business calculation centers that had renovated their facilities. In general everything was correct but you have to warn of a couple of issues.
In general, the current new products such as the I3-8100 are at similar prices than in my country (Europe). I have never bought such a product because the price difference is minimal and I do not have the European guarantee.
There are some new white label motherboards that are usually very basic. I have never bought and I can not advise you but I guess you should have later bios update problems...
I have no experience buying anything on Ali express and I know I will never have that. But I do know that most people would recommend you to buy it on a "normal" hardware web store.
If you still want to proceed buying it on Ali express, you should take a careful look at:
Reviews of the seller.
Reviews of the product.
Delivery Options.
Delivery time.
And keep your invoice at a save place, just don't lose it obviously.

I rarely had issues buying things on aliexpress.
Refund service worked perfectly then i had an issue. (like paypal do, btw now some ali stores accept paypal)
Just don't accept any transaction outside and check delays. For any issue contact directly support, don't listen to sellers.
Hello bboy.hh,
I bought a xeon cpu from aliexpress to upgrade a computer I already owned. It was well packaged and works like a charm. The delivery time was a few weeks (I am in Australia) but being a xeon was hundreds of dollars less than elsewhere. I would be confident buying a CPU from Aliexpress again. A motherboard is another matter as it is subject to the handling of the postal system, which can be very rough. Getting a refund if it all goes wrong could be tricky but corresponding with the seller in advance of the purchase could prove beneficial. Unless the saving is significant, go with a shop closer to home.
My one and only experience was buying an old core2 processor a few months ago. I had a Q6600 system and wanted a few more % out of for while so found a Q9650 for a good price [cheaper than ebay locally] including shipping. The processor turned up, quite quickly really. Packaged reasonable, was as advertised, worked when installed. Benchmarks confirmed the processor improvement.
I wasn't investing a huge amount of money, but my experience wouldn't put me off doing so in the future.

Finally there are some fraudulent cases of sale of current new graphic cards at very low prices that really are inferior models with the bios changed to look like what they advertise. The second hand graphics (i.e. GTX 750 TI) are good if they are from a known model and brand (asus, gigabyte ..).
