here on mexico on a few weeks i go back to next semester of college, sadly my old gpu passed out on summer, and for engineering it comes really handy having one, the gaming is a nice plus for me

since nvidia is the brand of my former gpu i regards them as my preferred brand to buy, yet their prices and bussiness model (dropping new lines every year or so) made me think twice my purchase.

right now i have the money to buy a gtx 1070, my plan for futureproo'ing my pc is to by need, buying on this month one, adquire later on the year a water block for overclocking, if it comes the time for more memory capacity i will buy another one and use them on SLI (on those times it may be more cheaper).

my question right now is: ¿which specific nvidia gtx 1070 (gigabyte, asus, egva) should i buy thats have an existing after market waterblock, is good for overclocking and SLI?

Also, since i am mexican i pretty much need to do really questionable things to be able to buy from newegg, so i end pf with local retailers, my local retailer offered me the:gigabyte gtx 1070 g1 gaming for 560 dollars (inport and added value taxes are a real pain in ths country), what do you guys think

In my opinion, you should not be looking to future-proof with GTX1070 at this moment. For one thing, next nVidia GPU will be different from Pascal, and DX12 features in hardware will mean a stop of support for implementing them in software (Pascal). Another thing- for both nVidia and AMD- memory speed will be getting huge bumps, with 10-12GB/s GDDR5X for mainstream and HBM2 for performance and enthusiast segments. If you think 1060 is enough for you for the next two years- better go with it.
Also, have you seen watercooling really helping GTX1070 overclocks? As far as I notice- OC margin for this GPU is up to 2150MHz, cards are cooled easy on air, and it all depends on silicon lottery.

the sillicon lottery...no surprises, before getting into engineering study i thought thats the factories made items with no inperfections, most things on this life are a gamble i guess.
