i want to install a dual boot. i'm running windows 10 from a windows 7 home premium upgrade (both 64 bit) and from windows 10 it isn't letting me install to a partition with 38.9 gb of free space and 39.1 gb of total space. said partition is simple layout, dynamic type, file system NTFS, status healthy, and is online not offline.

How big is your hard drive? Maybe you don't have 39 GB of contiguous free space anywhere on it?

I have a hdd with 320gb and of that, im showing over 280gb available. I have 4 partitions but don't know which goes to what so basically I don't know which to even attempt to get rid of.
