I'd like to install JAVA 1.5 I have 1.4.2
I've been informed on other forums to uninstall 1.4.2 first then install 1.5
from the
Sun website.
My question is if I put in today as the restore point & do the install
tomorrow will
the system restore still have java 1.4.2 if I inadvertantly screw up?
Also because I getting this PC on a rent to own plan I dont have the reboot
disc &
since I'm not the brightest bulb in the box would that be necessary if I did
screw up really bad?

Hi Robert,

Where did you find version 1.5?

I just went to the Java test site and it reported I had the latest
version ( 1.4.2_06)!

thank you for your reply. I don't know how this will be taken by other MSN
users
but I go back & forth between Microsoft IE & Mozilla Firefox. Some sites
there at FF don't
work well the 1.4.2 that came with this PC. Even then 1.4.2_06 willwork as
well.
So my question is this as I understand the upgrading process I need to
uninstall
the 1.4.2 in this PC, now if I put in today as my restore point then run the
upgrade
tomorrow and mess up would the system restore still have the 1.4.2 & be able
to
run with that until I get it right?
p.s. Mr. Kinney I got there( to the 1.5 dowload site) thru the FF fourm.
p.p.s What I'm trying with this upgrade is a 1st for me & I want to do this
right, but have a back up plan just in case.
