I have the mercury pig31q motherboard that has an intel q35 rev. A2 chipset and a lga 775 socket....
I want to know whether my motherboard supports intel Pentium g4560 processor....

No. It does not. You need to find a socket 775 processor for that motherboard. No other socket type is compatible.

the answer to your question is NO. but... you could get a Quad Core2 CPU like a Q9400 or better perhaps as far as a Q9650 to use on that motherboard.
