Not sure if this is in the right category. Admins feel free to move it if it's not.

Basically I want to learn how to programme code in my free time alongside my studies. I don't study computing though. I do economics at University so it's not related. However, I know that once I graduate a lot of grad jobs would look for some sort of computing experience for data analysis purposes.

I did a work placement recently for one year. Within that time I got acquainted with SAS. I have knowledge of how to use SAS to programme various statistical analysis on data sets. And know how to manipulate datasets.

But this knowledge is basic and I would like to improve it. However I do not have SAS on my personal computer. I'd like to expand my knowledge of programming even beyond data analysis purposes if possible, and I would like to know of there are ways to do this without having to pay.

Thanks

Koushick

read books, research for guides, ask a friend.
basically, you need a friend who does these things. it would be too confusing for you most likely. there are tons to choose from.

i know how you feel, i am not an IT guy (i am an engineer) but i love coding, and it's what i do now

Please don't go for Visual Studio express. It seems you're a student if so join the Microsoft Dreamspark program to get a copy or Visual Studio Professional for free!Or else atleast go for the Visual Studio Community version.

well done,thanks for your sharing
