Oc'ing hardware is not that easy. But it's enjoyable, and worthwhile to eek some extra performance form your system. You need to read and learn about your mobo/cpu combo, and the do's and don'ts. Its not gonna be dial in this setting and that setting, and 'hey presto'.

I googled 'I7 2600 P8Z68-V-PRO Overclocking and came up with those few links. There's a lot of info out there, and it may seem overwhelming, but it's actually not that hard to do.

Here's another favourite guide of mine : https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq/cpu-overclocking-guide-and-tutorial-for-beginners.3347428/

From one of the Moderators on Tom's. It's an excellent beginners guide, and good for seasoned OC'ers too!

I did everything like said in this guide https://www.overclock.net/forum/5-i...k-3-4ghz-asus-p8z68-v-pro-overclock-help.html
And during stress test my core voltage hits 1.392! 😨

That could be for a multitude of reasons. I don't know what settings you are using, what you've changed in the bios, so I can't tell you if that's bad or good.

However, I'm pretty experienced with moderate OC's. So the main thing is to monitor temps on your CPU. Use HWMon. Make sure your CPU temps don't go above about 80c. If your temps do go above that, then your OP too high.

There are too many things to explain in a thread like this. Please read the guides. There is no point in OC'ing if you don't read and learn about first. You will just get frustrated and not get the results you want. 1.368 is possible depending on what other settings you are using. As you increase the speed of the processor you need more voltage to power it so it's stable.

If I can give any advise, if this is your first time OC'ing, it would be to read, read and read some more before trying it. The idea is to get max speed, min voltage and temps below 80c. If you use those 3 parameters as basics, you may have some success.

Btw my temps are 61 during during Cinebench R20
And what about after 15-20 minutes of prime95? Is the oc stable?

I get my best cinebench score after about number 3, ran back to back.

Yeah i know these basics, but my real question is i can't find for my configuration specific guide,I've tried this one https://www.overclock.net/forum/5-i...k-3-4ghz-asus-p8z68-v-pro-overclock-help.html and for some reason my score is 1264 while my simple oc that i did before (changing v core to 1.300 and multiplier x45 all cores activating xmp profile and everything else on auto) and my score was 1624 cp.

1.300 vcore is enough for 4.5ghz clock?
Since sounds better than offset mode.

Using that guide what did you accomplish? If you're old quick and dirty was better and stable, you may be better off going back.

With the guide, did you have xmp enabled? It is odd you lost so much of your score.
Did everything like in guide and same bad score,i will try now with enabled hyperthreading and manual vcore.
