But if you truly want the i3-6100, you should not pay more than $110 USD for a new chip.

Don't forget besides the new CPU and motherboard you'll need ddr4 RAM.

That is a very old mother board. It's a Socket 775. You can run q6600, but you can only do DDR3 up to 8GB.

If you are in the market, you may want to consider a nice cheap 1151 ($50-60) and then maybe the G4560 for $60 and you are golden. 8GB of RAM will also cost $50. You are looking at maybe $180 total...USD of course.
