I want to store and access my game save files on my external.

I would like to know if it is possible to store my save files for Steam (I play Skyrim and Morrowind) on an external hard drive, and still be able to access and play them without moving them to my actual pc hard drive.
Is there a way to make Steam search a place other than my system files to access my saved games? If so, I'd be happy to know it.

I believe you shouldn't face any difficulties running and accessing your Steam game files on the external. You can even use the Steam backup feature, it will automatically save copies of your game files there and afterwards you would be able to restore them.
