Im currently on Win7x64Home with an I74770K 16GigDDR3 and a GTX1070Ti

Im a Gamer as you may guessed and was all the Years happy with my Win7 but slowly more and more Games not support it anymore. The upgrade for Win10 is still free as it seems and i wanted to combine both Upgrades for my Windows and Hardware.

I think im still very happy with my 1070TI but when it comes to my CPU i noticed that in CPU heavy Games the Performence is not that good anymore

I do not overclock and i dont plan to because im extremly paranoid when it comes to that. I have not much Money and dont want to risk anything.

I will buy my new Stuff from the following Site https://www.computeruniverse.net/de and i have around 600 Euros

So its actually only about Mainboard CPU and Ram, here is what i came up with: 1x Intel Core i9-9900KF, 1x MSI H310M PRO-M2 PLUS, 1x Patriot Viper4 Blackout, 1x Samsung 870 EVO SSD 2.5 (the SSD is a must because i have only a 250GB SSD and thats by far not enough anmore today)

I know the Mainboard is very cheap but as i said i do nothing special, i do not plan any further Upgrades and i dont overclock anything. The only Thing that maybe comes later is a better GPU but that is right now completely irrelevant.

Pls let me know what you think

Solution
So i came to the following final Setup and hope that all of you can agree with it, but pls let me know ofc if anything is still wrong.

Mainboard: 1x MSI Z490-A PRO

CPU: 1x Intel Core i5-10600KF tray

CPU-Cooler: 1x Arctic Freezer 34 eSports

Ram: 1x G.Skill Aegis 16GB DDR4 16GIS (its a dual Kit with 2x 8GB)

With this im can add a 1x Samsung 870 EVO SSD 2.5 wich makes me very happy to be honest xD.

The total Cost for this including the SSD will be 561,73 Euros.

Now 3 Questions remain ...

Is the Mainboard good enough?

Is the Cooler good enough?

Is it worth to make this Upgrade?

Please let me know what you think
  1. yes
  2. Yes.
  3. YES!

xD

Good luck and enjoy!

Absolutely not.
That cpu will suffocate on that motherboard, and you could get actually get worse performance.
Its to powerful for that cheap motherboard.

Definitelly keep the 1070Ti.
Is gaming all you want to do on your pc?
What games will you play?

Besides Gaming i will just use this PC for browsing and watching Videos.

When it comes to Games i have a wide Range from very old Games like Diablo2 up to the latest like RDR2 wich runs surprisigly well on my current Setup. I also play HLL, BF1, Division2, Metro-Exodus all of them run fine on my current Setup but ofc not all maxed out.

I knew it was a good Idea to ask here befor buying anything, i hope you can help me to find a better Mainboard.

I agree with Djoza. If you go 9th generation i9, you definitely will need a good Z390 motherboard, like a Gigabyte Aorus or an Asus/MSI at the equivalent level.

Having said that, I wouldn't buy Intel 9th generation CPU unless I already had a good motherboard for it, since the Socket 1151 isn't compatible with 10/11 generation Intel.

If you want to go Intel, then I recommend getting a 10th gen like the i7-10700k (Socket 1200), since the prices are likely to come down due to 11th generation release, and a decent Z490 or Z590 motherboard.

Ryzen R5 5600x, Intel 11600k. In most games they either outright beat the 9900k by a landslide or are pretty closely tied enough not to make any realistic difference.

The biggest bonus is cooling, both are realistically low wattage cpus (although when overclocked the 11600k can get close to the 200w mark) so don't require anything more than a good aircooler or a 240mm AIO. The 9900k series really shouldn't be used with anything less than a 360mm AIO.

Being lower wattage cpus, they'll also run with no issues on a more regular decent 650w psu with almost any gpu, the 9900k series needing considerably higher.

Being lower wattage cpus, a decent motherboard is all that's necessary, no power requirements from the most expensive motherboards for use with a 9900k.

The 9900k might have been king gaming cpu in its day, but that day was yesterday, today is totally a different ballgame and the price tag for a 9900k pc done right far exceeds its realistic value when put up against cpus that are less than half it's cost.

So Guys i have made a new Setup based on your Posts and im happy to hear what you think about it.

1x Intel Core i5-10600KF tray, 1x MSI Z490-A PRO, 1x G.Skill Aegis 16GB DDR4 16GIS

EDIT: here is another Option for the Mainboard: ASRock Z590M PRO4 MATX Intel Z590 DDR4 S1200

For the Cooler there are 3 Options 1x NZXT Kraken X53 RGB, 1x be quiet! Shadow Rock 3 White or the cheapest 1x Arctic Freezer A13 X

EDIT: another Option for the Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports grau

I have one Problem now and im a bit confused. The Shop wich im getting this Stuff from shows a lot of Watercooling for the 1200 Socket and only a handfull of Tower/Air Cooler. Does that mean these CPU´s run so hot that you actually need Water Cooling by any Means or can o go with a normal Air Cooler?

The next Question is is this Upgrade really worth it Performence Wise. Will i get a huge Boost compared to my old Components?

So pls let me know what you think

Prepaid visa, mastercard or PayPal. Can buy at most larger retailers. It's how I got around because for a while ppl were insisting on plastic, not cash. You buy a €100 card, register it online and use it just like a credit card, good for upto €100. You can even get open prepaid cards where you go to the retailer, and they load money onto the card in the amount you buy with cash.

Lga1156 = lga1155 = lga1150 = lga1151 = lga1200. All the same socket size, all the same mounting pin size etc. The only difference being the amount of pins specific to the cpu. Intel is Intel, you can use any and all aircoolers with the standard Intel mainstream sockets. Only the enthusiast sockets like the 2066 etc are a different size.

No thats not an Option for me i have to pay cash, there is no other Way.
