Hi today i decided i want to upgrade my cpu since i recently obtained a 1080 ti i figure might aswell upgrade my Ryzen 5 1600to a Ryzen 7 2700X. I have read that x370 motherboards can work with that cpu after a BIOS update. Need a little confirmation from you experts that it will work. From bios version 1.00 i updated the Fatal1ty X370 Gaming X to bios Version 3.50 and then again to bios Version 4.70. The description of each bios is confusing to me and i dont know what each version is suppose to do so ill link the asrock site for my motherboard here so i can hopefully get some confirmation that the Ryzen 7 2700x will work. Thank you so much in advance. as a side note the bios updates messed with my 3.7 ghz 1.225 overclock on my ryzen 5 1600 a little and now i can only run 3.65 ghz on the same voltage with the stock cooler. i have a artic freezer 33 air cooler coming in a few days though for the 2700x.

I did update the bios to 4.70 but it doesent show a "p" on it. is that the right one? the description says "Enhance compatibility for Raven CPU with Intel WiFi." sorry its a dumb question but just want to make sure before i spend my $300 lol

IMO, i just got that CPU on a 470x motherboard and i have had nothing but issues, i hope its better for you but it might be something to think about.
to be fair the CPU works fine, but my older components like my GPU are spitting out errors like mad afterwords. but this is more likely to be the motherboards fault than anything else
