I want to upgrade my [2010] prebuilt system but i want to buy a gpu and my monitor only have VGA port.

I found one gpu that have vga port and its good for my pc and my budget.But i feel if i spend like 30 or 40 euros more [the gpu that i have found is 100 euros] i can get a better gpu.But i can't find a better one [Here where i live in Greece] with a VGA port.So i think i have to buy a gpu with HDMI or DVI port and buy an adapter to put it on my monitor.But i have heard bad things for those adapters and if i buy might dont work for my monitor and might the signal wont work or something like that.Please help me any help will be appreciated.I want to know if i can use those adapters and work,If dont I have to buy the gpu with vga [Its ok for my and my budget but i want a litlle bit more power for around 150 euros]

most modern GPU sets have dropped analogue outputs, so you might struggle.

You should be ok. If you get anything other then an active adapter then your setup will not work. Nvidia/AMD dropped analogue connections directly but also borked DVI backwards compatibility when they dropped analog output from there DVI connectors thus why you need an active adapter. Many folks don't understand this and why you see compatibility complaints online. As long as you have an active DVI to VGA adapter and not a passive one you should be just fine. check this post to see what I mean.

Actually no those don't work. They are not active adapters...the second may be active
(being a one way design hdmi->vga but not VGA->hdmi hints it might be active) but is not listing the feature so to be safe on buy active adapters.
