I want to upgrade my current rig!

So my current setup is:

GPU: Msi GTX 970
CPU: AMD FX-8350
MB: ASROCK 970 Extreme 3 R2.0
RAM: 8GB

I have pretty much already figured out that the weakest link in my build is the CPU. Now I am wondering which CPU I should replace it with. I had the new Ryzen 5 1600x in mind, but don't know if it's good or not.
Hopefully someone can help me and give some advice

The Ryzen 1600x is a great processor, but to avoid spending more money, I suggest you get the 1600. It comes with a stock cooler (you can overclock with it) and its cheaper.

The processor can pretty much counter the higher end i5 lineup, and it'll go great with your 970

But the price difference is not that big of a deal. Is it still better to go for the 1600? And does the 1600x not have a cooler?
