What games are you struggling with?

What is the approx budget?

What country are you shopping in, if you don't mind saying?
im not really struggling with any of my games but since i updated my monitor and went from 1080p to 1440p i noticed my fps has gone down to around the 30-40 fps with most of my games.
my budget is only around the 500 euro so its not that much (hence the update instead of buying a new rig).
i live in Belgium and know a couple of good vendors for pc parts.
Is it possible to just update my GPU and get better fps results?

What games are you playing, and at what settings?

It may well be that if you are playing demanding modern titles at high-ultra on a GTX 1060 at 1440p, 3-40fps is what you'd expect to see. But hard to say without knowing the games and settings.

Note: some demanding modern games will also want a better CPU too.

What is the model of the monitor you are on?

Division 2 is quite CPU intensive. A better GPU than a 1060 at 1440p is highly desirable if you want to play at high or better settings, but you may find the performance is limited by the CPU. It is sometimes even on my 3770k (which is a bit old in fairness) so may be even more on your i7 950.

However, you don't ghave the budget for a good new GPU, and a new CPU (which would also necessitate a new mobo and new RAM).

An RX 5700 / 5700 XT would be a lovely upgrade, but just be aware that CPU is likely to stop you getting the most out of it.

I'm not sure that's really worth buying right now... as they will still be stuck with a GTX 1060 for 1440p gaming! Not ideal for The Division 2.

What the OP really needs to do is save up until they can afford both a new GPU and a new CPU etc at the same time, to make sure they get the best out of both :)
