The base unit is running windows 7. I found out the motherboard is IPISB-VR currently with a i3 2120. Totat price for the below options is $815. Help is greatly appreciated.

- ASUS GTX650-E-2GD5 GeForce GTX 650 2GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0

- CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready-$40.00

- G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

- Intel Core i7-3770 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core

- CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 Quiet Edition Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm

Everything you listed is compatible, why the water cooler though; are you planning on overclocking? If so you'll want a K-series CPU because otherwise the core multiplier is locked. If your not OCing the cooler is a waste of money.Take the extra money an upgrade your your video card, heck you could save another 125$ by getting a i5-3350P versus a i7-3770 and would then be able to get a GtX 770 because unless your running apps that will take full advantage of the 3770's specs it is a waste for gaming.

Wow, nice! So that gfx card will work at its full potential with my pci slot? Its max capacity is PCIe x16. Awesome advice. Thank you. I am basing this upgrade on playing Star citizen among others, i'm tired of barely being able to play games of this age.

being this is an OEM system, that processor may not be supported by the system (bios) OEM bios are limited, ypu may need to check w/ Gateway, the highest processor I saw is the I7 2600.
Again, bieng an OEM system, it is probably also not overclockable (the GPU can be), as Minerva suggested, you don't need the watercooling.
