[SOLVED] I want to upgrade my PC im wondering if upgrading my GPU would improve fps

These are my current specs :

Geforce GTX 960
Intel i7-6700 CPU @3.40ghz
16GB ddr4 ram

Im thinking of maybe upgrading to a 1060 6GB, or a gtx 980.
Im wondering if upgrading would improve fps.

Any help?

Depends on what you identify as an improvement in FPS if you elaborate I can answer.

A GTX 1060 or GTX 980 is faster than a GTX 960, and the i7-6700 can support either card... so the answer is yes.

Some games are graphics limited like fast action shooters.
Others are cpu core speed limited like strategy, sims, and mmo.

Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

My guess is that you will do well with a graphics card upgrade.
