I want to upgrade my pc for a maximum of 400 € I will mostly play games and I want it to be able to run vr (Elite dangerous). (I am not going to upgrade my gpu)
My current specs:
Gtx 1050 TI
Amd Fx 8350
970 pro gaming aura Asus
8 GB ram
240 GB ssd
1 tb HDD

What can I get for as a decent cpu ,8Gb ram and a motherboard for this system?

Won’t my 8350 bottleneck the 1080 ti? Also, I don’t want to buy 1080’s since they are three times of their original price here. Would it be OK if I got a 1060-70 and an I5 7400 or a Ryzen 5?

If I am being honest however, the FX series of AMD was pretty terrible, and overall you would be better off buying a workstation Dell or something and slapping a new GPU into it. They are pretty quick as well, I have a couple.

I was just giving an example for the GPU. And of course, I'd go with an upgrade on the CPU and GPU. I just wanted you to know that the GPU is meant for gaming more than anything else, and you'd get the best bang for your buck by buying one.

Fx 8350’s 4Ghz stock speed made me buy it. I am actually dissapointed by that cpu and that’s why I want to change it. What would you recommend me as a new cpu?

Here is an example of someone with your motherboard and what they built. That motherboard only really scales to a FX CPU, which caps at about 60% on that benchmarking site. This is a terrible score honestly, which will lock you out of a lot of open world games and stuff. I really do recommend you get a cheap workstation combo, or ride it out until you have money for something better.

Isn’t Ryzen 5 a little bit bad at gaming compared to I5’s?

Edit: What would you recommend me as a cheap and good B450?

for vr you do not want ryzen

the best bet is an i5 8400 with a B360 mobo

you also want MINIMUM a gtx 1060 for decent vr performance

Ryzen 5's vr performance actually looks good. Also, I don't think I can afford a 1060, an i5 8400, a mobo and a 8gb ram with that budget in our country. GPU prices are three times of their original price here and that's why I don't want to buy another GPU.

So I've done some more research and I have decided to either buy an i5 8400 or a Ryzen 5 2600, 8gb ram, a compatible mobo and a gtx 1080.

1'st build:
i5 8400
Asus ROG Gtx 1080
MSI B360 Plus
8gb 2400 Mhz ram
£875.71

2'nd build
Ryzen 5 2600
Zotac Gtx 1080
MSI B450 Gaming plus
4x2 GB 2400 Mhz ram
£772.84

Which one is better?

top one has more performance, bottom one is a better value.

I'll buy the bottom one with a 1070. But,the thing is, in my country it comes for £900+ (without the oculus rift, which I will buy with my system). If I order them from amazon, it comes for 750. Will anything happen to them when they are being delivered? (In my country, buying the system costs more than buying the oculus and the system from amazon)

If anything does happen to it, amazon should protect your purchase. I've always used online stores and haven't had any issues yet.

Seems like products which are that expensive and big are not allowed to get through the border of my country (they are shipped from the UK and Germany, I live in Turkey) but I've found a good deal in a Turkish website which is the same system except the motherboard which is not MSI but ASUS, for just 100 pounds more expensive (which is actually good for Turkey) Thanks for the help. I think I am going to buy this system at May or June.

Get while you can the 8 core Ryzen 7 first gen, it's a great deal, better than the 2600 😉

not for vr
