I want to upgrade my RAM

Hi All,
My current specs
-> Intel i5 CPU 3rd gen
-> Current RAM 4 GB DDR3
-> MOBO - DH61WW
-> OS - Win 7 - 64bit

I have checked on intel website (http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-board-dh61ww.html) for info regarding my MOBO, they say MAx supported is 16 GB. Tried http://www.crucial.com/ and http://www.memorystock.com/ to identify the right memory, crucial reported 8 GB abd memorystock reported 16 GB (http://prntscr.com/6m2sa3).

I have studied more on Intel website and found that With BIOS after 18th FEB 2011, it supports 16 GB MAX. Mine is 18th OCT 2011. So it should support 16GB. But I am confused.

I will sooner or later upgrade mu MOBo so I was looking for 8GB single RAM.

Please advise.

Update: I am from India, so please advice on RAMs availability here, if possible.

The Intel DH61WW motherboard supports up to 16 GB total RAM, as per the specification at Intel website. Also, at Crucial website here, maximum memory at 16 GB is confirmed.

Cheapest compatible DDR3 8 GB UDIMM found are -

Transcend Jetram DDR3-1333

Transcend Jetram DDR3-1600

Thanks. Transcend has closed its services in India and have a very poor service, my friend had very bad experience with my laptop's SSD. I will go for the Gskill ripjaws x.

Thanks again. I got the Gskill ripjaws DDR3 8GB, installed it. I don't see much difference in performance however the Windows Experience Index is improved

An issue I am having particularly when I use Firefox is it gives, not responding message after a while. I thought It was due to RAM, as my RAM was like more than 80% used earlier.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox and have also run chkdisk, used CCleaner etc but nothing seemed to help.

Do I need to create an another thread for it? Please advise.

Does the message show up while you are on any page? The browser may be crashing because of the website you are on.

As far as a difference in RAM performance, you will only notice a significant difference if you put the memory to under stress. Running basic tasks does not require much so it may seem the same.
