I want to upgrade specs on my Dell Optiplex 745

Hello,

I would like to upgrade the CPU, RAM & stuff on my computer to make it better.

If you could list some parts I should buy that would be grateful!

Here is my specs atm:
- Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz 1.86 GHz
- Installed Memory (RAM): 2.00GB
- Capacity: 74.4GB

Put the money towards a newer machine..

Brett is right, it doesn't pay to upgrade that machine. The parts are expensive now for a machine that old, and you won't get much of a performance boost either. Time to donate or sell that machine and buy a new one.

Dell machines are not meant to be upgraded - they cannot be overclocked(for the most part) and short of changing the amount of RAM, HDD or GPU(requires psu) the benefits do not outweigh the cost. Save your $$ and plan a custom build - one that can be upgraded.

Nothing meaningful can be done to that computer and the parts are not worth moving to anything else. TIme to move up and move on.
