I want Toshiba satellite pro 4200 to boot on power on

This is an old laptop that runs well on XP. I want to use it for a remote application and it should boot when power is applied. After accessing it, I'll do a normal power off using TeamViewer. The power is applied over a wifi-controlled switch. I have taken the battery out and changed the bios setting to auto power on. I access the bios at start up with Esc and then F1.

I can't make the laptop boot up when power is applied.

it has a battery doesn't it? try removing the battery and only use AC.
