I was randomly upgraded to windows 7 Ultimate?!?!?!

I was running windows 7 home premium when i went to install recommended updates. I clicked "shut down and install updates" bla bla blaa. Restarted and said that it was running Windows 7 Ultimate.... Now it pops up with "your version is not genuine every 5 sec. Pls help me get back to Windows 7 Home!!!!!!!!

Which does not really say where that particular Windows install came from.

It does not just randomly upgrade to a different Windows version.

I'm actually surprised that the install "Taken from an old laptop that had windows 7" actually worked.

I would guess that the Windows 7 on that old laptop was not quite, shall we say....legit.
It don't just update on its own.

In any case, a laptop OS install is usually an OEM install. And as such, licensed to that original motherboard. Unless you or someone else installed a retail version along the way.

But it does NOT automagically upgrade to Win 7 Ultimate.
