Hello all,

I currently have a 128GB SSD drive that is on my motherbaord (MSI X370 PR0 CARBON) and i recently installed my Samsung Evo 500GB SSD. How Can I make this my new primary C drive instead of E drive?

Thank you!

Solution

pg 30 in your User manual (english)
Straight down from the CPU.
two options.
1. install windows to the new SSD. after the install it will be the C: drive. OR
2: clone the old SSD to the new SSD using the tools that samsung provides on it site. magician i think they call it. it will duplicate the old drive to the new. after the cloning procedure unplug the power to the old ssd and boot the system. it should boot to the new samsung with all your setting and programs there. once you are secure that everything is good you can shutdown and re-power the old ssd. change the boot order to the samsung in the BIOS/UEFI and boot up. verify that the C: drive is the samsung and you can format the old drive or keep it as an archive or whatever you had planned for it.

Clone everything from the 128GB SSD to the new 500GB SSD.
These steps, in this order, exactly:
-----------------------------
Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up

It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.

If it works, and it should, all is good.

Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe as necessary.
Delete the original boot partitions, here:

So I am not sure how to disconnect the first SSD drive due to the fact it is integrated to the motherboard. I cannot really see or reach it well without moving a lot of stuff around...

OK...we need a LOT more description on this.
What drive, what motherboard...

So it is a MSI X370 Pro Carbon. I have a 128GB on the mothaboard(integrated) and a 1TB WD. I show both in bios: Toshiba 128 GB SSD on the 5th SATA and SSD Samsung on the 6th. It does not show anything else. I am currently in magician. but there is no option to clone?

Magician? That is for Samsung drives, and it does not clone anything.
Samsung Data Migration is what you're thinking of.

The 128GB drive is "integrated" No....it would probably be an m.2 drive.
And yes, at the end of this clone process you need to get to it and disconnect it.
