Hi
I sort of thinking on building a PC and I have been making a research of the part I would like and performance over price, etc.
Well I just want to know who you guy see this, if there are things I should change or is this build ok. Besides, if there is any other type of cables I would need or I would be fine with the cables that come with the part. Any advice or suggestions are gladly check and grateful.

[update] 3/18/2016
I will be using this build for gaming, video editing, and coding (probably try to work on a game), but it is mostly for gaming.
(xXCrossfireXx) Thanks for remember me to put that.

yeah, is first time wanting to build a pc, so while I save money, I have been moving things, see how it would work out, but without other opinion is harder to decide.
The CPU cooler was mostly because I want to run this cooler, and since I live in a hot area I thought it would be fine
also I was looking at this one Cooler Master Hyper T2 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rrht228pkr1
The thermal paste, was just to have it handy, so when ever I need a change, I wont have to wait till arrive.
PSU (well that one I didn't know much about, I was base on reviews)
and the UPS is because I have once in a while electric problem at home (besides connector doesn't hold them well, only one sort of do it (where I will be connecting it) So I don't want to take any chance).

Another thing, I see and understand why you pick the H97 mobo, but would it be compatible with the G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB DDR3-1866, since the mobo says that it is up to DDR3-1600, would the System recognize them and be able to boot up, or it wont, or it would down grade the speed from 1866 to 1600. That had me wonder a lot and that why I pick the Z97 which is compatible, but if it can boot, and set the speed to 1600, I'm fine with that.

Thanks for answering, recommendations, and your time at looking at the build I want to do
I'll have the Recommended changes you put below in mind. (I'll make some adjustment and look out more). your idea of what to change and add, looks really good. Plus there is a SSD in there to which makes it better.
I really appreciate your help.

CTurbo got it, thermal pace unnecessary, cooler not even necessary, although I love the hyper 212 evo, and so do 3,000 reviewers on newegg. That's as much as I can tell you since you didn't tell us what you're gonna use it for. If it's gaming, just buy one stick of 8GB, use the extra 30 on graphics, maybe buy a better 970. Although, if you're gaming, what games will you play? The 390 beats the 970 in some, and the 970 beats the 390 in some, and the thing is they're practically the same price. Also will you be SLI/Crossfire-ing? If you are that could also impact the graphics card, because Crossfire is generally easier, if you ever plan to go dual cards in the future, since you can mix brands, memory amounts (I think), and it requires x4 PCIe lanes rather than x8 with SLI (although x4 will bottleneck, but hey, it's better than nothing)

Just provide a bit more info on what exactly you're doing, and I can further help you 😉

Thanks for remember me to put that.
I'm going to be using it for gaming, video editing, and coding (coding games in future). So I want to set a reliable machine that will do fine.
Yes Im still in the thinking of using R9 390, or a 970, that is a hard decision, so I just keep an eye in both of them. since I'll probably go for the best on performance for the money. And, you are right in that both of them have different performance between games (saw videos) I will take any of the two, since I don't mind playing within lower 50-60fps, as long as it remain higher of 30fps in high to ultra Im happy. (says the person who somehow play hitman absolution in an intel HD 4000 graphics). So I'll keep an eye on both graphic cards. (Beside I can take advantage on the 8gb of DDR5 of video ram that the 390 have)

Great, you're considering the 390 too, that makes my job a lot easier :)

Video editing though? I'll get to that in my list of what I think were bad options on your 3/18 updated list:

CPU: This i5 isn't a great video editing CPU. If I were you, I'd spend the extra 150 and get the 4790k, or if you want to have less performance, 120 dollars more for a 4770k. The hyper threading will really help you

Motherboard: Will you be overclocking? If so, get a Z97 chipset board with at least 4 phase power.

RAM: If you're doing big video editing projects, get 32 gigs of it. If you're gonna be programming in a programming language rather than scripting (compiling vs interpreting), and you're doing big coding projects (which I assume since you want to make a game), get the 32 gigs

Power Supply: Quality wise, great choice. According to JohnnyGuru though, it has poor value.

And that's really it. Hope that helps

Knowing that you're going to doing some editing too, I recommend spending $50 more on the Xeon e3-1231v3. It is basically an i7.

I have been looking for an I7, but everything was sort of expensive, and the xeon E3-1231 is the best solution I have seen. Never look at xeon before, so I didn't know that, that xeon was similar to and I7. Since it has higher clock speed per core, it makes it better than the I5 that I put, and also it has hyper threading which makes thinks better.
Thanks for your help. I'll stay with that CPU. Since Im still saving money, I'll keep an eye out for discounts, see if I can get it cheaper, of if I find I7 for lower price (which will be hard).

Pd. Now the harder part will be if I pick and GTX 970 or R9 390

Thanks Again.

It really help. and yeah, the i5 wont do the trick that well. "CTurbo" Recommend me Xeon e3-1231v3 which is basically and i7 in a way for about $50 more. The higher core clock speed and hyper threading it will be better than the I5 I was picking up before. Since I'm still saving this make thinks better, but I'll keep an eye on offers and discounts, see if I can get an i7 for lower price and better than the xeon.

I wont be overclocking, so I find reasonable stay with the H97, but if I manage to get a bit more, I may change it for an Z97 just for future proof, If I want to overclock.

For now since I will be learning more and more video editing and coding, I feel fine with 16GBs ram, but in the future I'll add the other 16GBs.

With the GPU, I'm still debating with the EVGA 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 and the Sapphire Radeon R9 390. Both are great GPUs, but I feel that I could really take advantage of the 8GB of VRam. SInce the 970 doesn't exactly has 4 GB VRam but 3.5 GBs. But for now, I'll keep checking it out.. I have seem videos form " Awesomesauce Network, Linustechtips, JayzTwoCents, and many other, and so far they both look similar in performance, but sure the 8Gb of the 390 takes a bit better advantage on higher resoulution, but besides that it's basically the same.

With the Power Supply. the Antec TruePower Classic 750W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply seems really good (also recommended by CTurbo), also Rosewill 750W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX, Thermaltake 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX, and EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX, but I'll keep looking around.

Thanks for the help, sorry late response, I have been busy.
Thanks again. have a good day.

Two GPUs? That will drain a lot of power and require a big power supply since they're different brands, and can't be SLIed/Crossfired

On the other hand, I would recommend the Xeon. However, it IS a server processor, remember that, so the Xeon is locked. You will NOT be able to overclock it. If you want the overclocking ability, a Z97 platform with a 4770k or 4790k is recommended

Well, is not that I'm going to use both 390 and 970, I left them like that just if someone knows better than What I know so far which will be better that's way there is an OR there. One of the two, no both. :)

For the CPU, I know that the xeon is lock CPU, but since I do not plan to overclock, Im fine with that. But yeah, and i7 4770k or 4790k could come better, but I'll leave it like that. The motherboard Im still thinking on a H97 or Z97, probably because in the future I may upgrade for an unlocked CPU. but for know, I'll be checking on deals, while Im still saving.
Thanks for the recommendations, I actually look at those options but, I want to keep it to a limit budget, and Im hoping for deals to show to lower the prices of some part.
Well, Thanks again for the help. I'll have that in mind when I Start buying it.

Looks like you're good to go!

By the way, you can buy an unlocked i7 on pretty much any platform, whether it's Z97, Z77, H97, X99, Z170, etc
