The computer is stock with the exception of it now has Windows 10 OS. Everything else such as drivers are updated. Dell and NewEgg don't seem to be able to help

Yes it is the correct laptop model. I have owned it since it was brand new. I should specify can I replace only one memory card instead of both of them? I love the computer and it has bee wonderful.....but only 2Gb is not enough.

It is best practice to replace them entirely as mixed RAM modules can cause conflicts even if they the exact same models, and it isn't worth the headache IMO. That isn't always the case, but it's a 50/50 bet, and the last thing I'd want you to do is buy more RAM just to find it doesn't play nice with your other module and you can't use it anyway.

Thank you so much for the advice......Is it easy or somewhat easy to get at the card located under the keyboard? Or is that a pain in the keester?

If you are near the US, you can get it upgraded for a lesser price. Upgrading the RAM to 4GB from 2GB is worth it! It is a bit challenging but not really hard. I would say, if you already have a single 2GB stick, then find out the speed of it and buy a similar spec, not necessary to get a pair, though it helps in certain cases.

Once you know 'the how to', then it becomes easy. Watch these two videos, it will help to understand what you will be doing:

All you ned to be careful with, is the ribbon keyboard connector strap, that is underneath the keyboard, connecting to the motherboard.

Refer service manual here for manufacturer instructions: https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/...laptop/latitude-d530_service manual_en-us.pdf

Both the 531 and 530 are similar variants.

You can check this website for memory upgrades, they are cheap!
