I3 2120 vs 3220 WEI graphics score?

Just swapped out CPUs from a Sandy Bridge i3-2120 (w/ HD2000 graphics) to a i3-3220 (w/ HD2500 graphics). All other hardware remained the same.

Strangely enough, after re-running WEI, I'm actually getting a LOWER "desktop performance" graphics score with the new Ivy bridge CPU. Here are the WEI results:

i3-2120
CPU: 7.1
Memory: 7.5
Graphics: 5.1
Gaming Graphics: 5.8
Hard disk: 5.8

i3-3220
CPU: 7.2
Memory: 7.5
Graphics: 4.5
Gaming graphics: 6.2
Hard disk: 5.8

Even though gaming graphics jumped from 5.8 to 6.2, desktop graphics fell from 5.1 to 4.5. Any ideas why this may have happened?

WEI is a stupid metric that doesn't mean much of anything.

Basically if most are above 5.0 you can run Windows well.
If most are above 6.0, you have a reasonably capable computer that can do a little of everything.
If most are above 7.0, you can run any program well and play games.

That's about all anyone should read into WEI.

Figured it out-

The i3-2120 has a graphics base frequency of 850Mhz vs the i3-3220 which has a frequency of 650Mhz. So it makes sense that even though the ivy bridge chip ranks higher in 3d performance, the 2d rendering of the 2120 is faster b/c of the higher graphics clock freq.
