Question i3 2330M (SANDYBRIDGE) to i5 3220M (IVYBRIDGE) in ASUS K53E --- BLANK SCREEN

with i5, the screen is blank with no BIOS yet the laptop is turned ON
boots normally again ith i3 2330M

got
-reset cmos
-flashed bios software (version 221 - oct '12)
-cpu is well seated

please advise, thank you

I'm not seeing anywhere that that laptop supports Ivy Bridge.
