i3 2370m vs q6600

Well, i recently purchased a Elgato HD 60 Capture card. Without realizing i needed a minimum of an i5 or higher, and for streaming i needed an i7. Now, i can still record in 720p at a low bitrate and such. But after awhile, i get lag and graphics issues in the software due to my weak cpu. (dual core i3). What im wondering is, Would my old q6600 core 2 quad perform better than my i3? i know the core 2 quad has more physical cores, and im not too sure about clock speed. My q6600 is running stock at 2,4ghz. Im not sure about my i3, cant be much higher if even higher. Thanks

Interesting comparison. The Q6600 has the quad cores, but the i3 2370M has hyperthreading, and better IPC (instructions per clock).

In the end, when we compare benchmarks they are actually quite close overall. That leads me to believe that switching to the Q6600 will not give you a performance improvement.
