As I had an i3 3220, I played pubg mobile at 45-60 fps I never lowered the normal with stock dissipater. So I bought an i5 2500k I put corsair h60 liquid refrigeration and it runs at 40fps and 20fps at a time when the whole map is shown, I even have to say that the graphics of the i3 3220 are more beautiful than the i5 this because it happens? Driver outdated?

Windows 10 64 bits
24GB Ram Corsair DDr3 1600MHz
Gigabyte z68a-d3h-d3 V1.3
Liquid cooling corsair h60
i5 2500k 3.30 (STOCK)

Likewise he had the i3 3220 with those same characteristics.

Are you using the integrated graphics?

Not much point in liquid cooling a stock i5-2500k. Overclock it.

If we go by the numbers the graphics on the i5-2500k is faster than the i3-3220. However, the i3 is a generation newer, so there may have been improvements. Sadly there aren't a lot of decent benchmarks for integrated Intel graphics as they aren't used much for gaming.

If you have a dedicated GPU then the individual cores of the i3-3220 vs the i5-2500k at stock are in favor of the i3. Once overclocked the i5 should be much faster.

Hello, thanks for answering

Well I have if only integrated graphics, no GPU.

That's what I mean, then if it is possible that the i3 is better than the i5 in this specific case? If I would do OC then if I could get to par of the i3 3220 for its generation?

I almost get a GT 1030 the most economical but I think it can help something .. But watching the performance of this CPU I thought I would run better than the i3 but I'm wrong, I would prefer to stay with an i3

I would think so as well, but I'm not sure how the process node shrink between Sandy and Ivy would really play out. If the iGPU stays cooler and boosted longer on the i3 it just might out do the i5-2500k. On the other hand, the i5-2500k has a soldered heat spreader vs the thermal compound of the i3, so it should also be cooler, particularly with the liquid cooler.

Since you got the 2500K better pair it up with some decent discrete GPU. Once overclocked that thing is quite a beast. My 2500K at 4.5Ghz still fare quite well in a lot of modern games. It is one of the best purchace i made back in early 2012.

If in fact I just did OC but with windows 10 is giving me many blue screenshots, I'm reinstalling the system, in this case w7 I'm testing. What GPU are you discreet? I want to buy GT 1030 for now. I did OC to 4.5 also and 512 internal graphics. for now while I buy the GPU and it runs well, and if better than the i3 3220, but it had bad configurations and was not OC nor had internal active graphics

Better oc the cpu after you get your new card. You need to look at the proper guide for overclocking 2500K. don't use "auto" for the voltage. You need to manually tweak the voltage. Using auto normally will put excessive voltage which can be dangerous. On the GPU side of thing it depends on your budget.

Gt1030 might be one of the lowesf end gpu but no need to spend extra if you don't really need something faster.

If brother, for now I only have problems with the driver, crashea sometimes and do not let me use resolution 1280x1024. The rest I resolved this post. Thank you
